The fifth graders have been thinking about whether space exploration is worth the cost...or not. What does "cost" mean? Not just money...they discussed the cost of health, human life, resources, time. Our first step in discovering where we stand on this issue is to educate ourselves on the history of space exploration. The class split in half to research about the race to the moon and also Mars exploration. We then worked on ways to teach the other half of the class about what we learned so everyone has the big picture. After this week's research, some of us decided to change our stance on the issue!
